Words Arent Enough

Written By: Emmanuella Grace

Words aren't enough
Emmanuella Grace 2006
V1:
You took my clothes, my clothes and shoes
But every night you'd leave a bruise
And every fight you'd leave a bruise
But I'm a fighter cos I choose
An all the things you took from me
Eventually would set me free
Cos every time you made me bleed
Eventually it made me see that...

Ch:
I - I dont need you
I cried - each time I breathed you
You Lied -
But words aren't enough to say that your sorry

V2:
I captured back my dignity
After all you'd done to me
I had the choice of fight or flee
I had to fight to set me free
I thought I had so much to lose
But there's no loss in bat and bruise
And everything I gain you lose
Everything I gain you lose cos...
Bridge:
Say that your sorry
It makes you feel better
You can say that your sorry
But I tore up your letters
Cos words aren't enough to say that your sorry

Love me that way
Emmanuella Grace © 2010

Open up a bottle of wine
Got no words to say
Stuck inside this head of mine
You love me anyway
You love me that way
You love me that way

I know Im right
You Know Im wrong
We make up anyway
You know I wont hold out for long
When nothing’s left to say
You love me that way
You love me that way

You love me, love me, love me
You love me, love me, love me
You love me, love me, love me…Oh

In this big wide universe
We’ll build ourselves a nest
And when its all been said and done
And we lay down to rest
I will lay with you and know
There’s nothing left to say
All along I will have know you loved me in your way
You loved me that way
You love me that way

I tried to tell you honestly
You broke my heart and humbled me
I want to make it work somehow
Its too late to wait
Must do it now

We could wait more years, through tears and fights
Not hold each other every night
When we don’t share the covers is it a sign we’re nearly over

Come lie close to me
Really close

Share the covers again
Help me believe in you
Confess what’s in your head
Help me to trust in you
Forget what’s been said, we’ve both been hurt but we’re here now
Give me the answer I didn’t know I wanted to hear

If I left for a night or two
Would you notice, would it bother you
If things were round the other way
Would you be asking me to stay
To many thought have gone unheard
All along you’ve not said a work
I really want to turn this round
But you’re a void of empty sound

Come lie close to me
Really close

Share the covers again
Help me believe in you
Confess what’s in your head
Help me to trust in you
Forget what’s been said, we’ve both been hurt but we’re here now
Give me the answer I didn’t know I wanted to hear

Butterfly

Written By: Emmanuella Grace

You don’t care why Im this way
You wet my wings and hope Ill stay
But Ill dry out and fly away
Cos I am a butterfly

Neglecting my existence
Wasn’t safe, that’s nothing new
So fragile but so resilient
Didn’t know my strength until I flew

You don’t care why Im this way
You wet my wings and hope Ill stay
But Ill dry out and fly away
Cos I am a butterfly

Misery loves company
But that joy’s a fleeting thing
Torn form all that comforts me
Escape on brand new wings

You don’t care why Im this way
You wet my wings and hope Ill stay
But Ill dry out and fly away
Cos I am a butterfly

Fragility becomes me
No more pitying me
Cos Im alive
Yeah Ill survive

You don’t know why Im this way
You wet my wings and hope Ill stay
But Ill dry out and fly away
Cos I am a butterfly

I should know better

Written By: Emmanuella Grace

I should know better

I should know better than to answer when you call
When was the last time it didn’t hurt me
I keep on adding bricks to this stonewall
But all you need are words to break me

Come on out with it
What did I do this time
Why do you build me up just to tear me down?

I don’t want to learn to live without you
But I can’t accept that things wont change
How can I build a wall that’s high enough
That my battered heart won’t break

It hurts because I want to believe in you
So why do you keep on proving me wrong
So scare the ones who leave you
Were never really there at all

I’m serious
Why cant we just be kind
Why do you build me up just to tear me down?

I don’t want to learn to live without you
But I can’t accept that things wont change
How can I build a wall that’s high enough
That my battered heart won’t break

Come on out with it
What’s the excuse this time?
Why do you build me up just to tear me down?

It hurts because I want to believe in you
So why do you keep on proving me wrong
So scare the ones who leave you
Were never really there at all

I’m serious
Why cant we just be kind
Why do you build me up just to tear me down?
