Bio

Emmanuel Trep Kormann a.K.a Dr Mani is a producer, a musician and a versatile singer coming straight from Paris. Although he’s in love with Soul Music and he has a penchant for electronic experimentation which somehow feeds his music, Kormann doesn’t care that much about genres. Or mixtures.

Hip Hop lover, former classically trained clarinetist and Funk singer, MC, fan of John Coltrane or Wayne Shorter, fan of movie soundtracks, especially japanese ones, he sees no reason to censor oneself. And absolutely none to not match sounds the way he wants. Well, unless there’s a big big check on the table.
He actually has synesthesia ( to each sound he hears corresponds a color), so he simply composes music he sees.

In 2011, his remix of the beautiful « Dead Sea Scrolls » by the American pianist Phil Raphael was considered the best remix of the year by Up and Down Radio (Dublin). In 2012, he released his amazing album « Obscur Étrange » with Central Control International, the London-based label of Barry Adamson (Magazine, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds).

And now ? After being unable to sing on stage for three years, during which he never stopped writing, he finally recovered his voice. Ready for the next chapter, without a name - of course. Different. No doubt about it.
