Emmett Spooner

Emmett Spooner II is a Louisiana native born singer-songwriter, currently residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Born in 1977 along with a twin sister, he is also the older of two brothers who are singers as well. Emmett began singing at the age of 3, later started performing at the age of 12 in church choirs, groups, and toured the country with a two hundred voice choir. The talent was definitely passed down by his mother Cheryl Spooner, a singer, and grandfather a singer-songwriter. Wanting to find his own identity, Spooner started a local R and B group called "THRU" Time Has Reveled Us. The group built a fan base in the southern region winning major talent shows while promoting their music. THRU was on their way to stardom when a tragic event happened that would change all of their lives. Headed home to the Rouge after recording in Houston, the group members would get a phone call that the youngest member of the group at 20 years old was murdered before he made it home. Unfamiliar with this type of pain, the group parted and Emmett was ready for a change in his life and in his music. After soul searching and coming out of a great deal of depression, he picked up the acoustic guitar and taught himself to play. Little would he know that he was writing music and playing tunes that would hypnotize an audience with melodies of passion and conviction. While singing songs from heaven, Spooner started studying the music business along with fashion and promotion. This is where he found his passion. Cousin Micah Stampley, first signed to Dexterity Records/EMI Gospel, offered Emmett a road managers position for a promotional tour that he would take with the opportunity to learn more about the entertainment business. He later founded Righteous Entertainment Inc, a promotional company that packed out stadiums in Baton Rouge with big names like Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, and Mercy Me which is one of the hottest Christian rock bands in the world. Promoting his own projects and helping promote the albums of both of his brothers, Emmett eventually started working on his own record. He would spend time in Nashville, TN with his mentor grammy nominated, Dove winning producer Antonio Neal who has produced projects such as Tyler Perry's "The Diary of a Mad Black Woman" Soundtrack, Grammy, Stellar, Dove award winners The Clark Sisters (EMI Gospel), Keke Sheard (EMI Gospel), Stacie Orico, Salvador, and many more and together they would make music that would impact the world. Spooner has a deep compassion for the poor and lost and wants to inspire and bring healing to the world through his music. Spooner's musical influences are The Winans, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, and recently Brooke Fraser. Spooner's vocal abilities are second to none. He has his own style and his song writing abilities are very unique that will paint on the canvas of imaginations worldwide and will grab the heart of many with sounds of smooth rock ballads that soothe the soul.
