Bio

EMOCEAN (ee-motion) are a three piece Sydney based band that combine enchanted melodies and torched outbursts, underpinned with alternative rock, funk and dance influences.

Since their formation in the winter of 2003, Emocean has seen a couple of line up shuffles and has witnessed their music grow and evolve into where they are today. They have played gigs spanning from Kelts Bar at Blaxland to Vic on the Park in Sydney; youth events, fundraisers, Uni Bars, and all age shows around the Penrith region and their local Hawkesbury area (building a loyal and ever increasing following). More recently they have hit the Sydney live scene hard playing at the Metro Transit Lounge, Civic Theatre, Bar Broadway, Bull & Bush, Cat & Fiddle, the Marquee & the Excelsior Hotel in Surry Hills which hosted their EP launch in January 2006 to a packed crowd.

Emocean’s debut EP “The Party Hat” has been extremely well received among their fans and in the industry. The release saw the first track; ‘Nature’s Silence’ selected for Foghorn Records’ annual compilation CD ‘Grow Your Own’ Volume 10. In addition to this success, the EP sold out of its first batch of CDs in two weeks and within a week of being released in local record stores it went to number 1 in the top 20 selling records.

Emocean wish to follow on from the momentum they gathered last year and bring it with them on their journey in 2006. Continuing to perform at well known venues in Sydney to capacity crowds is one of their many objectives. Additionally, the band hopes to broaden their fan base by taking their music to audiences interstate.
