Bio

Emory Anderson is a Hip Hop and Inspirational Spoken Word Lyricist with a voice for today’s generation. This North Carolina native uses his gifting with words to positively impact and influence those who hear him. The zeal behind his music is driven by his desire to see people become successful in life. He believes if people are willing to listen to him, it’s imperative he have something to say.

Emory grew up in a single-parent home, raised by his mother, with one other sibling, a younger brother. His father passed away when he was only 3 years of age. Emory was determined not to be another statistic and use his circumstance as a crutch or an excuse. He finished high school in the top percentile of his class and graduated with honors with a Bachelors Degree in Business from Hampton University. He currently is the CEO of his own company and independent record label, CHANGE Music Group.

After college, Emory became a public high school teacher in his hometown of Fayetteville, NC. His biggest obstacle was coping with the fact that he couldn’t reach every student who needed help. Even so, he would always push to at least make the effort to do so. This concept is still at the core of who he is and is the foundation of many of his messages.

Emory simply desires to expose others to life-giving and life-changing content and messages through the medium of music and lyrics. Emory’s approach to his listeners is one that is very unique. As a Hip Hop artist, he is conscious that the market is saturated with messages filled with casual sexual encounters, drugs, violence, and the exploitation of women, just to name a few topics. His music has a familiar Hip Hop vibe, but a completely different “articulation”, if you would. He creates a sweet blend of melodies, combined with Hip Hop components, fused with rhythmic, lyrical cadences that mesh with multiple genres and appeal to a broad audience of listeners, leaving you only one option… to listen.

Emory’s message “is” his music. Strip it down to words alone, and you still walk away with the meat of it all. His goal is to make a lasting, life-changing experience every time you encounter his music, whether through headphones or through his live performances. With songs of his like G-Five, that promote self-worth and self-confidence among young women, Emory desires to use his platform to inspire and enhance positive growth in the lives of others.

He has traveled across the United States performing and interacting with audiences of all different walks. He has performed at High Schools, Colleges, Universities, Churches, Clubs,Festivals, Conferences, and even packed out Coliseums. He has performed, and worked with many well-known artists who have won awards and have received many prestigious accolades such as Canton Jones, Da Truth, JR, Mali Music, Myron Butler, Kierra Sheard, the original Sunday’s Best Winner Crystal Aiken, Lisa McClendon, Stellar Award Nominee Uncle Reece, Deitrick Haddon, and 2-time Grammy Award Winner Matt Redman to name a few. But that isn’t Emory’s “claim to fame.” He only seeks to contribute his part in helping to change the world for the better… starting with himself.
