"Bowery Ballroom"

In direct support of Nicholas Megalis was Emperor City Motorcade, a “magical” 6-piece rock wonder-group whose debut self-titled album is in stores now.

The New York based group, fronted by songwriters Alex Curran and Vincent Capolupo, along with renowned guitarists Allen Hulsey and Jonathan Pointer, bassist Tom Guinan and drummer John Melissinos, have wowed crowds at venues across the city including Blender Theater and The Bowery Ballroom for over a year now. As stunning as they are talented, these expert musicians crafted a flawless set which included the acclaimed tracks “Welcome” and “Mary Jane,” a jawing gritty rock track with a numbingly melodic guitar riff, swimming vocals, and a chorus that swept in like a hurricane in a vacuum. Any damage done by the storm was thankfully repaired by Alex’s sweet soft voice during the melodic “Ordinary Day.”

"Emperor City Motorcade"

Arlene's Grocery, New York City

Put together as a six-piece band that looks too mighty for any small stage, Emperor City Motorcade is cruising through New York City venue by venue, creating a mood that can only be described by watching them. This band has a sound that is deeply moving and much more emotional than most bands from the area, a fact that was highly evident during their recent performance at Arlene's Grocery.
On a stage that basically defines the underground scene, the band was ready to have some fun. Playing shows for the pure love of music is what was evident during "Texas Love" and "Papercut Suicide." Possibly the best area frontman, Alex Curran's powerful vocals and enjoyable stage antics were supported by Vincent Capolupo's strong keyboard skills, jonathan Pointer and Allen Hulsey's exchange of mind-blowing solos. Tom Guinan's ever present bass, and John Melissino's hard but not too overbearing drumming.
Performing more toned-down songs such as "Ordinary Day" and "Welcome" - which could very well be the bands first radio hit- the group's diversity and down to earth rock music was presented.
Emperor City Motorcade is working hard in New York city, and can also be found in their MySpace area and on iTunes, where their self-titled debut album is currently on sale. With a name that seems larger than life and music that lives up to that billing, this is a band that should be hard to overlook in the coming months.

The band’s “optimal line up” fuses the incredible talents of five individual artists, to create a sound that lives up to the depth and scope of its name. Songwriting has always been the primary focus of this prolific rock band. Evidence of this can be found in the praises of (Grammy award winning producer) Andy Johns recognized for his work with Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Van Halen. Andy can be quoted as saying “The bands songwriting has a maturity usually only seen in legendary bands after their 3rd or 4th album”. Other notable collaborators include Jay Messina, known for his work with classic Aerosmith, Kiss, Miles Davis, John Lennon.

Emperor City Motorcade’s music has been featured and commented about on FOX 5 N.Y. morning news and Q-104.3’s Ground Zero show. They have performed live on 101.9 WRXP w/ matt Pinfield and Leslie Fram and proudly contributed four original songs to be featured in the upcoming independent film Rex (scored by keyboardist Vincent Capolupo).
