Bio

Rochelle "Rock" Fjeldstrom (Lead Vocals/Keyboards/Acoustic Guitar): Rochelle was born on December 8, 1976. She began piano lessons at age 5, and by completion of Grade 12 in Kenaston, SK had received Grades 4 through 7 Royal Conservatory of Music Certificates and Grade 1 & 2 Theory Certificates. She had many other interests such as dance, nature and singing. Rochelle has been playing acoustic guitar for about 5 years and singing ever sing she can remember. She moved to Saskatoon in 1996 and went to Saskatoon Business College. She now works at Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan as an Administrative Coordinator/Buyer. Rochelle met Dave through previous employment, Sean through mutual musical friends, and Shaun because he married her sister, Jennifer! Rochelle spent a couple of years playing with the band, Stars on Strike. A few years prior to that, she was jamming with the likes of Lynn Victoria and Shirley Rae, a Saskatoon bass player and guitar player, who were like mentors to her. Rochelle loves playing and singing in the Empress Road Band, and finds it to be very rewarding.

Shaun Puff (Drums): Shaun was born and raised in Saskatoon. Shaun has been playing the drums since age 12 and worked his way into the music scene through heavy metal music. Shaun’s first band was Staircase started with some buddies at Walter Murray High School. Since then Shaun has been in a few other bands: Fy, a metal band with 2 albums under their belt and Perth, a hardcore metal band with some demanding drum arrangements. Now free of all bonds Shaun chooses to play the music that has influenced many of his metal heroes. Shaun is always introduced by Rochelle as “this is my drummer Shaun, oh yah and he’s my brother in law as well”.

Sean “Henry” Richard (Bass/Vocals): Sean was born in Saskatoon and raised in Martensville. Living in Saskatoon for 7 years, Sean grew a strong love for being on stage through Drama classes. He picked up the guitar at age 18. Now 31, Sean has been playing over 11 years. He has traveled and recorded with the band Rippertrain, who is currently working on their second album. Sean’s playing has grown with the Empress Road Band and he very much enjoys playing bass and singing in the band.

David Humphreys (Guitar/Background Vocals): David, a North Battleford district farm kid, grew up on 1980’s rock and metal music and soon gained an interest in playing guitar. He took 3 months of guitar lessons which introduced him to basic scales and exercises and the rest was history. Since 1990 he has played guitar with a handful of his close friends swapping riffs and learning techniques from each other. In late 2004 he started up a band named “Borderline” with his buddies in which he plays bass guitar and shares the lead vocals doing a mixture of rock / punk / funk and alternative covers. Since then he has sharpened his guitar playing ability by learning soloing techniques and new playing styles. In the spring of 2006 he joined “The Empress Road Band” with his former co-worker Rochelle Fjeldstrom. David has found the musical experiences in playing with the ERB to be inspiring and uplifting. In 1997 David moved to Saskatoon to take civil engineering from the U of S. David works for UMA Engineering with his primary function being the manager of construction projects for the U of S. He also enjoys volleyball, basketball and traveling.
