"REVEIW OF EMPTY ARMS LIVE SHOW AT THE LONGHORN SALOON IN TOLEDO OHIO ON OCTOBER 17TH 2009."

Detroit's Empty Arms. These guys are steadily gaining a following among horror-punk enthusiast's and after seeing the set live I can see why that is the case. Empty Arms played the Longhorn stage like they were working the Fillmore theater crowd and that shows thier professionalism. Im not big on the horror punk genre in general ,because they tend to spawn Misfits wanna be's but while you cant deny an influence These guys take alot of their cue from old goth/art-rock/industrial bands than they do Jerry Only.Early songs by The Damned maybe... defiantly rocked and the Longhorn crowd dug what they were doing.

- GLOBAL PUNK REVEIW

"Empty Arms"

Written by: Cheri Clair
When it comes to movies, Empty Arms’ Evil Dee is
into horror. So deeply into it, in fact, that he founded
a band that infuses the genre directly into their kitschy,
1950s-style rock and goth-tinged punk. It naturally
oozes into the camp-tastic live shows they’ve been
terrorizing audiences with for the past five years.
“We want it to feel like you’re watching a horror movie
when you see our show.” explained the front man of
Detroit’s hardest-gigging Horror Punk band. “Like a
horror movie,” he enthuses, “but a cheesy, B-flick horror
movie.”
When asked if it might be the kind of thing Wolfman
Mac would air on his weekly local program, Dee informed us that
Empty Arms had, indeed, already made an appearance on the local
late night show. The band also filmed a video which was featured
on the episode. The spine-tingling video of the song, ‘Straight out
of the Grave’, is available for viewing on the Empty Arms MySpace
page (link below). A full-length DVD featuring Empty Arms is in the
works.
In addition to the band’s appearance on Wolfman Mac’s Nightmare
Sinema*, Empty Arms’ music is featured in a locally-produced
movie, Heavy Mental. There’s a trailer for the independent film
available at http://www.silverbulletpictures.com/id23.html.
Empty Arms will be touring through the end of the year, and then
heading into the studio. To experience their outrageously fun, topnotch
live show before they ‘check out’ to work on their next release,
see the show listings in this magazine.
On the web, visit their MySpace page (http://myspace.com/
emptyarmsmusic) to read their bone-chilling bio, listen to and buy
their music, and watch the ‘Straight out of the Grave’ video which
was produced at Erebus Haunted Attraction in Pontiac. Limited
quantities of their first release, ‘Live and Undead’, are available for
purchase on their MySpace page, as well as at their shows.

Bio

A long time ago, in the distant time warp three. Young men of the living human race battled in a fight for humanity. The war was with the Astro- Zombies from the Planet X, but resistance was futile and the living human race was destroyed. All accept for the ones had been turned undead. These three young men were of those turned to the undead and were left with nothing but Empty Arms and a hunger for the living. So they are returning to the present time warp, on planet Earth, to form a rock band in an attempt to lure in the living so they can be eaten alive and turned to the undead.
With powerful undead vocals, catchy lyrics, fast hard edged guitars, spooky bass lines, thundering drums, and a live show straight out of the grave.

Empty Arms is Horror Rock at its best!
