Bio

Hip-Hop in the 21st Century has painted vivid pictures for fans, some well received and some tossed away. Although listeners and tastemakers alike have different preferences within it, a common paradox of "Authenticity Versus Art" has always been apparent. The E.M.S. Crew has sought to transform this paradox into its conversion "Real Playas Never Fold", to bring together the best of both worlds.

The E.M.S. Crew is comprised of PSA (Primetime Silver Age) (born Saladin McClain, September 29, 1989), MAI (born Shamai Santiago, November 5, 1988), and LG Cool (born Jerel Guilford, January 19, 1989). With a bond that began in elementary school, the three had a connection that solidified the root of the "Band of Brothers". Through high school and college they each went their separate ways but still "kicked it" and remained close.

It was in the summer of 2008, their sophomore year of college that their bond led to a discovery of a musical talent. It began with PSA & MAI producing music together as a unit, but they then soon realized that instead of just producing fresh sounds they wanted to rap on them as well. It was then that they birthed the E.M.S. Crew, the acronym for En Masse Sodality which is French for "Band Of Brothers”, and also defined as "not comparable" .

The rest of the summer of 2008, they created and developed their sound and debuted at Brown University on November of 2008 performing in front of 1,000 people gaining an over-whelming response. The group went on to display their music on MySpace over the next 3 years, and began laying the groundwork for a solid fan base.

While trying to multi-task college, collegiate sports, occupations, and music, the group took time off to create a great body of work for listeners. During that time the group perfected their sound while also appearing and performing at other colleges in the tri-state area and prestigious venues including The Knitting Factory opening up for Slum Village on July 21st, 2011 and opening up for Phife Dawg at B.B King Blues Club & Grill on February 23rd, 2012.

The group is set on releasing new material on their debut project that features production from the group members MAI & PSA, as well as Djay Cas & B Free. The project has been recorded, mixed and mastered by world renowned producer/engineer Brian Cid (Cid D Kid), and is a project that breaks away from the accepted sounds of society and today’s music. Their untitled project was made to prove that human emotions can excel when preserved and presented through, integrity, passion, and belief. It is more than a statement, in fact it is a decree that E.M.S. will be here forever.

The E.M.S. Crew takes pride in their artistry of music and being able to create vocal images that will impact those who will receive it. "We only want to keep alive the natural vibe that has been laid out by the greats before us, only in our natural essence, and with that, help usher this next phase of music."

The E.M.S. Crew is engulfed in originality. “WE HERE!” and there is No Correlation.
