E mumf was born and raised in Boston, MA. He first started writing in high school, but it wasnt until he reached college did he decide to take his apparent craft seriously. While studying at Virginia State University he began writing, producing and performing on a consistent basis. Enjoying the local lime light and adoration he wanted to drop out of college and pursue rapping full time. At the urging of his mother, he decided to stick with school and get his degree.
In May 2012, E Mumf graduated from Virginia State University cum laude with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. With college behind him he was focused on putting all of his efforts into his music. He attributes his clever lyrics and witty comments to his time spent at Virginia State University. Not your typical rapper, E Mumf tells a story with each song.
