BIOGRAPHY:

Endorphin (aka Eric Chapus) has had a prodigious career to date. Since arriving in Australia in 1984 from France he has had several musical incarnations. Coming into the spotlight after being unearthed by JJJ in 1996 and delivering an impressive debut album “Embrace”, he has been dazzling his audiences with a live electronic show that weaves together an eclectic array of visual imagery and music to create a live production that explodes with an energy that seduces all the senses. It is theatre for the dance floor and art for the ears. Endorphin tours include Gatecrasher, Moby, Massive Attack, Portishead, Faithless, Homebake and many more nationally.

After leaving his rainforest home in Kuranda for the urban interior of Sydney, his second album “Skin” reflected a more gritty musical landscape. “Skin” drew accolades from both the dance music and mainstream media and won 'Album of the Year' at the inaugural Australian Dance Music Awards. He was also nominated for Best Male Artist at the 2000 ARIA Awards.

Endorphins third album, a double CD "AM/PM" bought together the two edges to endorphin’s sword. A fusion of ambient sounds found on "Embrace" to the robust edginess of "Skin", AM/PM delivered the fusion of the chilled out lounge room experience with the four on the floor of the live dance performance. With new audiences now converted, endorphin was invited to play in Mexico City for the World Apec meeting and the Venezuela Arts Festival in 2002.

Endorphin was also commissioned to score the music for a new National Geographic series of 26 episodes.

His fourth Album "Seduction" expanded his musical repertoire combining rhythmic dance textures with translucent layers of haunting melodies and new jazz influences.

A huge and gruelling National tour in 2003 called the "Are we there yet" tour took in 67 gigs that swept through every city and state and many regional towns.

Throughout the years, Endorphins music has been incorporated onto numerous Australian and International compilations including Ibiza’s DJ Jose Padilla’s chilled out Café Del Mar series with his classic track "Satie". He has also remixed other artists work such as Icehouse, Spiderbait, Paul Kelly, Sonic Animation, Sunk Loto, Men at Work, Jimmy Little and Tina Arena.

2004 began with Endorphin scoring music for Jack McCoy’s Feature Surf film called "Blue Horizon".

With finally time off the road, Endorphin started collaborating with signer/songwriters to produce his latest and greatest Album so far called "Shake It". Producing an impressive mixture of Middle Eastern sounds, break beats, retro pop, seasoned by soaring female vocals and strong and driving male vocals. The result being a very tasteful and spicy dish.

Endorphin is fast establishing himself overseas:

-2002 Festival del Artes Venezuela
-2005 World Expo Japan
