Fresh from an incendiary series of live performances & festival appearances, ENGLISH TELLING return with 'CLEAN/GOLDEN LAIR.' It's a lavish double header that looks set to confirm them as one of heavy, dark pop's GENUINE great hopes. Compacting the epic vistas of their debut E.P, the new music heralds a sharper, grander vision without sacrificing any of the expansive dramas previously attained. 'Clean' dishes out lethal hooks with an assured lyric, equal parts detached apathy and the charred sorrow of bitter truths. A defiant laugh at life's myriad of assumed certainties. 'Golden Lair' sees the flame initially burn slower, as a barbed, brittle riff unfolds shotgun with its lyric the listener is carried out to sea, souls bloodied by the jagged rocks below. Searing frustrations & self questioning abounds - a new peak has been attained...Those with faint hearts & compromised souls may recoil, but anyone who has yet to witness ENGLISH TELLING'S focussed, controlled aggression will need no enticement.
