English Tom in the Bookstore

As students entered Berklee for their first time in 2011, whether they all had their own set of dream and goals, they all shared a passion to live in music. When I, Kevin Clark and Wil Tecla met, they were just a pianist and a drummer, but as they came to realize they shared a very similar goal and drive, they quickly began putting together the foundation that is English Tom in the Bookstore. As we picked up a sax player here (Derrick) as well as a bass and flute player, our style Jazz/Hip Hop style began to take shape and we began gigging around Boston (Check us out when we just got together playing at Occupy Boston!!) At the end of our first semester we decided to set a goal of recording a single and submitting it to Berklee's Jazz Record Label, Jazz Revelation Records. Well with a lot of hard work and determination, we were selected to be signed and premier our song on their upcoming album. With the release of our new EP "Welcome to the Bookstore", the public has erupted with cries for more. With every performance our audience grows and people begin to remember why they love music so much.
