Having spent the last few months releasing brilliant singles in anticipation of their new EP release, LA-based art-pop trio POM have now dropped a brand new track and we have the honour of bringing it to you first.

The new single 'Sway' manages to merge the band's influences of electro-pop and indie-rock in perfect harmony, creating a catchy and engaging release that shows off the group's more playful side. With hints of Bjork and Sleigh Bells thrown in there too, 'Sway' is a wonderfully upbeat cut that shows great promise for this emerging newcomers.

POM tag themselves as ‘a three-person adventure into new musical territory’ and with their seamless merging of indietronica, art-rock attitude and live instrumentation, it’s an apt description for their new track Sway. The song layers organic, almost bluesy flesh on an electronic skeleton to deliver a track that has pure intelligence and raw soul. If you harness the raw power of The Gossip and give it an urban, angular, experimental feel, then that’s part of the way to getting across the sex and swagger of Sway.




The band formed through a series of chance meetings serendipitous connections in the L.A. Valley music scene, and through these meetings Jeremy Amato found his future bandmates Valerie Burkholder and Lauren Taler. They say their musical chemistry was nearly instantaneous, and soon their jam sessions solidified into structured songs. The band have been prepping for live performances and Sway will feature on the band’s upcoming EP which is due out later this year. - Electronic North

A quiet murmur of ambient textures swells around mysterious whistles when the warble of bass enters alongside dancing percussive elements. “The only message alive/ When I’m alone with my mind/ There’s something dying inside me,” they croon while suspended in the sky, bespattered with an unspeakable nerve. A guitar soars and pierces from the bowels of a whale while the shadows of the swelling tide colour the sky with dreams dreamt from shoulders above the coastline. There’s a hopelessness that courses through Pirate Anthem. It anchors with a deep caress of uncertainty and weighs heavy like a stone on your fearful breast. As POM succumbs to the insanity, Pirate Anthem washes away into the cerulean glare of home.
