"Band of the Week"

MOTOR CITY RIFFS REPORT (101.1 WRIF)
Eos By Nick Brandon
GO & DO Editor

Who's RIFFing:
Eos is Iain Lanivich from Roseville on vocals, Aaron Carroll of Romeo and Danny K of Warren on guitars, Mike Loveless from Romeo on bass and drummer Bill Carroll of Romeo.

The story behind the RIFFs:
Originally formed in 2003 by Loveless and the Carroll brothers, a year later the trio would be joined by K and original singer Brian Rains -- this was an important phase for the band, receiving constant airplay and even an in-studio interview on 101.1 WRIF's local music show Motor City RIFFs.

Explain the name:
A unique and cool moniker, the literal meaning of Eos is "Greek goddess of the dawn."

The sound of these RIFFs:
The members describe its style as rock that includes complex guitar riffs, hard-hitting breakdowns and truthful vocal storytelling -- it also stresses an energetic stage presence within a heavy sound.

Primary influences include Korn, Slipknot, Pantera and Clutch.

Got RIFFs on the record?
Eos is currently recording a five-song E.P. titled Safe With a Stranger at Midwest Studios in Rochester Hills. The disc should be ready by late 2005, and will be available for purchase through the band’s official Web site at www.eos-band.com.

Your RIFFs outlook:
"Just like any other band, we want the title shot," said Lanivich. "At this time, the band is mostly working on building awareness and respect amongst the heavily-scattered Detroit music scene.

"Once the CD is complete, Eos will be looking to broaden their audience to college towns and other major cities within the Midwest."

Where will you RIFF next?
Eos will be in concert Friday, Oct. 14 at Walker’s Speakeasy in Dearborn Heights as part of WRIF night hosted by Jay Hudson. A week later on Oct. 21, the quintet will play TNT’s Bar and Grill in Clinton Twp. with Presence and The Accidental Experiment.

Bio

Eos reformed in Jan.'05 to the sound of complex guitar riffs and hard-hitting breakdowns. Their vocals transform traditional storytelling into compelling truths where only the strong survive. Look for '05 to be their breakthrough year in Detroit -- with an EP release in early 2006. Based in Romeo/Warren, MI.
