Nashville,TN...Out of hundreds of songwriter entries, Embassy Music recently selected Eowyn, a singer/songwriter from Birmingham, AL, as the grand-prize winning songwriter in Embassy's fall Ultimate Talent Search and seminars. Eowyn's song, "Break Free", recieved top honors during a special ceremony held September 14'th at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.
As a result of winning Embassy's national songwriting competition, "Break Free" will be released and promoted to Christian radio stations nationwide. Throughout the year, Eowyn keeps busy with performances at numerous youth conferences nation-wide. She has been priveledged to do an opening number before noted Christian artist, Rebecca St. James, during Summer Jams 2000. In 1999, Eowyn cut her first 11 track album entitled, "One More Chance." Since that release she has cut two more singles.

When you hear her name it may take you several tries to get it, but when you hear her music, it will only take you one song to love it. While reaching audiences since the age of six, Eowyn’s singing voice has amazed many with its unique tone and dynamics. Her creative songwriting ability has put a new spin on alternative/rock music with strong melodic hooks that demand the attention of every listener. With songs that have sparked interest in both Christian and Secular genres, this new and upcoming artist is sure to be seen and heard everywhere in the upcoming years.
Already gaining exposure, in 2000, she was named winner of the Local Artist Competition for Birmingham sponsored by the Gospel Music Association and Five14 Management and was asked to perform an opening song during the Summer Jams Tour. In 2001, she was one of the select few chosen to perform live during the Atlanta Fest competition. She also was named Artist of the Month for the Rusty Mace Show on WDJC in Birmingham, AL in 2003.
At the age of 20 she released her first full-length project “One More Chance” and currently at age 24 is releasing her second full-length CD, “Shattered Illusions” which is already receiving rave reviews. Both CD’s feature her remarkable song-writing ability and creativity as an artist.
Nashville’s Embassy Music took notice of this and in 2002 they awarded Eowyn Grand Prize winning songwriter for her distinctively different song, “Break Free.”
Today, Eowyn continues to challenge herself as both an artist and songwriter. She has a voice, message and heart to reach the lost and the saved. As her stage presence is strong, you can’t help but feel the intensity that this new artist brings to the stage.
