EPHNIKO (ef-ni-ko) is a Bi-lingual hip hop recording artist, songwriter, and emcee residing in Miami. His brand of lyricism sketches poetic portraiture onto musical canvasses that are rooted in the concrete mechanics of 90s hip hop while managing to remain unpredictably eclectic. His sound has been deemed similar to Orishas, Calle 13, Mos Def, KRS-One, and Vico C among others. Also his genre transcending writing has been compared with the likes of Ruben Blades, Nas, Jim Morrison, Silvio Rodriguez and Guru.

His inspiration for such remarkable lyrics arises as much from the details of his life journey as it does from his desire to help in the efforts against weapons of mental colonization. “My artistic struggle is as much a need to progress and escape poverty as it is a means of resistance to economic injustice, racism, ignorance, and brutality. Music is a vehicle to provoke critical thought, instigate independent education, and inspire spiritual cultivation.” It sounds serious, but Ephniko’s balance of musicality, flavor, humor, and story telling is sure to keep you entertained.
