The best kept secret in music

"beyond belief, their ability with synths and the impressive drumming came to the fore. When it came to the take off, the room shook- Epoch Rising had made their mark."
- Kate Rothwell, County Wexford Free Press (the Entertainment page), 12th May 2006

The song "silence" was featured on the South East Rocks II compilation album, released nationwide in June '06.

Feeling a bit camera shy

The band formed after Seán Ahearne, from Co. Waterford, returned from the U.K. having completed a National Diploma and Honours Degree in music. Seán teamed up with music student Harry Prendergast from Co. Offaly and in January 2006, Dublin born Derrick Tallon (Riverdance drummer) completed the line up.

The band set themselves a rigorous schedule of writing, rehearsing, gigging and recording. Their debut live performance was headlining an Electric Fix night at Radio City in March. By the end of May they had played gigs in Dublin, Offaly, Waterford and Wexford, including a Radiator gig supporting Noise Control and an appearance at the Wexford Art Centre as part of the first ever Wexford Rocks Festival.

In April, the band recorded a song at Reverb Studios in New Ross which can be heard on the South East Rocks II compilation. the band recorded a further two songs at Sun Studios in Dublin, which were produced and mastered by Fergal Davis at Suite Studios, Dublin.
