Bio

Equinox was formed in the early 90's. The original line up (see "Line Up & Instrumentation), regrouped last summer, just for “fun”, but over the course of the last several months, we have begun to revisit many old friends and faces. Due to the unexpected good response (for the most part by word of mouth), and growing turnout of both old and new fans alike, we are currently in the studio finishing an EP of four new songs. We are looking forward to both the airplay and radio attention that we received back in the 90’s.

Our sound is a mixture of classic rock, hard rock, southern rock, 80’s metal, 90’s grunge, and even a little jazz or blues improvisation on occasion.

Equinox has supported many acts including Collective Soul, Eddie Money, Vallejo, Slick Lilly, The Schmill, and several “tribute bands”, including a Metallica tribute band used on Metallica's own “Garage Inc”. Tour.

The ball has started rolling along much faster than we anticipated, so earlier this year, we signed with Soft Tone Productions, and are excited about one upcoming show in which we are scheduled to participate on Saturday, July 26th, 2008:

“On July 25-27th, 2008, artists from the local Florida scene and the southern United States will converge on the Pensacola, Florida Interstate Fairgrounds for three days of family, fun, and music…Rock Fest 2008”.

Other bands scheduled include:

Black Smithz from Atlanta, Georgia
Falls From Grace from Biloxi, Mississippi
Flirting with First from Georgia
Wounded Soul from North Carolina
The Slammers from Pensacola, FL

National Touring Acts:

Stereoside
Uncrowned
Joan Red
One Less Reason
Trust Company (album "True Parallels")
Journey tribute band “Chain Reaction” performing some of Journey's greatest and classic hits. Also hailing from Pensacola are The Slammers (formally known as the Morgan City Slammers), and to end the evening off, Michael Allman of the Allman Brothers will headline the evening.
