"Nothing Eratic About This"

This week, Eratic offered his debut release, “Post Eratic Syndrome,” on Bandcamp. You need this. Naptown hip-hop is not stopping any time soon, and this would be a great addition to your playlist. Eratic has been making headway on the local scene for a few months now, and “Post Eratic Syndrome” should help him cement his reputation as a formidable MC to be watched. Eratic goes at every track with ferocity and fire. His baritone delivery is perfectly fit with classic boom-bap style production from the likes of Son Of Thought, WhoIsLouis, Defame and more. “Post Eratic Syndrome” is full of influences from the grittier side of hip-hop.

Eratic’s main weapon of choice is an unblinking eye on his truth and a voice and flow that command attention, and that voice — at times, reminiscent of Rakim’s flow, and at others, shades of Aesop Rock and the wordier MCs of more recent memory. There is not a single bar wasted on this release.

As an individual that submerged himself in Hip-Hop starting in the late 80’s Eratic cut his teeth initially as a Battle MC learning, honing, and most importantly RESPECTING his craft. His formidable years were spent going any and everywhere Hip-Hop was being created and represented. He appeared on several singles and independent releases in his hometown in Northern Indiana gaining moderate buzz and success. But after two label deals fell apart and the Hip-Hop landscape began to change he found himself pushed to the way side as he decided to stick to his guns and refused to stray from his Hip-Hop roots.
