Bio

Ergo Sum formed in early 2005 as four friends with one common hope: to create genuine music that is honest, diverse, and true to its creators. By playing at various local and regional venues, and opening for bands such as This Day and Age, Rookie of the Year, The Track Record, and Last Tuesday, as well as local touring favorites, The Art of Abandonment, the band gained a consistent local following in their first year of performing.

In January of the following year, Ergo Sum began a recording project that would last 10 months, culminating with the independent release of the album, “Dead Horse Morse Code.” Released with Kimon Records, the 8-song debut reveals four individuals that have achieved their initial goals as a band, and are striving to transcend even their own expectations of what they can become. By blending an array of musical influences, the four have forged a sound and energy that is fearlessly honest, and utterly their own.

Currently, the band is focusing on writing, recording, and continuing to perform at local and regional venues, hoping to continually expand their sound as well as the audience which it reaches.

"For all those out there who prefer to call them emo, they are not, and this is a public disclaimer of all emo-ness in Ergo Sum's music. It is definitely more cerebral, aurally dark, spacey, and intense."
