Bio

In this age of “American Idol”, the term “complete package” has moved from the lexicon of the music industry to the American public. Though the term gets thrown around quite a bit, it’s truly refreshing to actually come across an artist who actually fits that description: Erica Hoyt.

Erica is the complete package. She is, first and foremost, a gifted singer with a very identifiable and commercial voice. She’s been singing since she was a small child, in school functions, beauty pageants, and on stage with her father’s country band in Texas.

She is a talented songwriter, writing or co-writing all of her own music, drawing from her own life experiences with the unique ability to touch others with her lyrics and the universal appeal of her songs. Erica had a song, “Half Empty”, that she wrote and sang in the recent Tim Allen movie, “The Six Wives Of Henry Lefay”, which is now available on DVD.

With her “Cover Girl” looks, she has a stage presence and charisma that commands an audiences’ attention. Naturally photogenic, she has done modeling on both the runway and in print media.

Besides being a very humble girl, Erica has a vivacious and bubbly personality that is both endearing and infectious. She is a natural in television interviews having appeared on local talk shows frequently when touring.

She is a true-life, hero. When Erica was just four-and-a-half years old, she saved the lives of both her mother and her then un-born sister, when her mother started hemorrhaging during the last month of her pregnancy. Erica’s story was featured on the hit television series, “Rescue 911”. It became the most-watched episode of “Rescue 911” and landed Erica in the national spotlight on such television shows as “The CBS Morning News”, “The Sally Jesse Raphael Show” and “The Jenny Jones Show”.

Erica moved to Nashville, Tennessee with her family when she was 13 years old and discovered her passion for music. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut album, which is scheduled for release in 2013. In the meantime, Erica has been performing live, both acoustically and with her band. She has opened shows for such artists as Phil Vassar, REO Speedwagon, Sugar Ray, Smashmouth, Craig Morgan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dionne Warwick, Danny Gokey, Kimberly Locke and even sang onstage with Loretta Lynn at two of Loretta’s concerts. Other performances include several television shows, Milwaukee Wisconsin’s “Summerfest”, and the Show Me Festival with Tim McGraw and Trace Adkins.
