After 5 years of touring in Canada, USA and Europe with his award winning rock band, Direct Line’s front man Eric Hamelin is now concentrating on his new solo project. Working on a brand new EP set for a release in fall 07, the music takes its roots from folk rock with rich essences of strings and acoustic sounds. Partnering with 5 amazing musicians, emotion and musical creativity are the focus of this new sound. After over 12 years on the music scene including noticeable showcases in New York, Orlando and Toronto, Eric Hamelin is a singer/song writer who’s always seeking musical creativity when it comes to music and lyrics. With influences from both the European folk rock and British alternative scene, Ben Harper, Damien Rice, Ray Lamontagne, Elliot Smith, Radiohead, Coldplay, City and Colour, The Police, International noise conspiracy, The Beatles, Amos Lee, Buck 65, DJ Shadow, Neil Young, Dashboard Confessionnal, Jeff Buckley... Eric’s sound brings elements of rock, folk, classic and funk.
