Erick Tyler

A 4th generation musician, Erick has followed in his family’s footsteps. His grandparents met in Southern California during the 1960’s playing in a band. At age 9, Erick immersed himself in mastering the guitar. After high school, he received an athletic scholarship to play college baseball in New Mexico.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, Erick moved to Fresno, CA, and started substitute teaching. He quickly realized that music was what he wanted to do and started performing at open mics around Central California. His first band, The Erick Tyler Experience, was playing 3-4 nights a week at wineries, bars, and coffee shops across California. As Erick’s music career began so would his battle with alcoholism.

“For many years of my life, I was a major alcoholic. It was the same vicious cycle, I would destroy everything around me and feel terrible about myself. I was alone & depressed all the time. I would try to get sober but couldn’t. It was the lowest point in my life and I knew I had to change.”

Erick Tyler got sober on October 19, 2018 and moved to San Diego, CA. He formed Erick Tyler & The Vibe and was performing 3-4 shows a week. The band had released a 6 song EP with a music video. They embarked on a 2019 California Summer Tour and were getting ready to perform at the 2020 San Diego County Fair. When Covid-19 unleashed its wrath, everything the band had created was destroyed. By the end of 2020, Erick left San Diego and moved back to the Central Valley.

“Moving back home was a turning point for me. I had been spiritually empty for so many years of my life. When I learned to humble myself and listen to God, everything started to change around me."

Erick began perfecting his one-man show. In May of 2021, he released a 9-song album called “Redemption”. For the majority of 2022, Erick has been performing 4 to 5 shows a week throughout California. He is set to release a new album with multiple music videos. His live show is a must-see! From covers of artists like Frank Sinatra, Van Halen, Peter Frampton, Micheal Jackson, and Jimi Hendrix to his upbeat and authentic original music, you'll be sure to stick around till the last note!
