Bio

A month after resolving in her mind that “maybe [her] music was only meant for friends and family to hear” this small town singer/songwriter got her first break. “Time and chance happen to us all,” says 27 year old Ericka Corban as she tells the story of how Starbucks found her, “but I definitely believe this was a gift from God.” Playing in a tiny coastal restaurant “on the edge of nowhere,” she adds with a grin, “You wouldn’t expect something this big to find you.” But it did and now you can hear her music playing in Starbucks stores worldwide.

For this new opportunity Corban is elated and immensely thankful. She hopes to use her music to cultivate a culture of selfless love and appreciation for the beautiful things in life. Accompanied by her guitar, piano, ukulele and tasteful vocals which have been likened to Norah Jones, Adele, and Sarah MacLauchlan, her smooth pop/folk/jazz style is very comfortable listening. Her husband Mattaniah, also a singer/songwriter, accompanies her with guitar, vocals, percussion, and piano.
She’s shared the stage with 5-time Grammy winner Robert Cray, country duo Steel Magnolia, and Dove Award winning Reliant K. In 2008 she competed at Music in the Rockies where she finished 5th in the nation. Her senior year of High School she competed in a multi-state Fine Arts Festival where she finished 1st in female vocal and 1st in songwriting.
Her current album “Daydream” was recorded as a first project in the small home studio her husband built. You can download the album for a donation price of your choosing at erickacorban.bandcamp.com.

In a fast paced world she finds inspiration in trying to slow down and value life before it passes by. As a lifetime lover of music she says, “We are all shaped by trial and triumph, loss and love, disappointment and desire. That’s what connects us…and that’s how music is made.”

Pulling inspiration from her own life journey, she’s written music that most people can relate to. Her songs have been her companion on relief missions to Panama and Dominican Republic, during times of personal searching in Germany and Australia, and even now as she’s settled into domestic life as a happily married wife and mother of two young children.
