Bio

ERIC LANGBERG, currently living in Pennsylvania with his wife and children, has been performing for nearly thirty years, recently sharing the stage with veteran bluesman Jimmy Thackery at the National Guitar Workshop’s Blues Summit. Langberg’s strong, emotional singing flexes easily from soft, soulful ballads to gritty numbers steeped in the feeling of the blues. The different musical influences show prominently in his guitar playing and song selection for his performances which include both original songs and covers. His playing and singing blend beautifully to communicate the feeling and mood of the songs.

Langberg performs as a solo artist with acoustic guitar and vocals as folk/acoustic blues act and also
with the band "Eric Langberg and Bluestone" which plays blues-rock, funk, soul, and classic rock.

ERIC LANGBERG grew up in a musical household. His father was a professional singer and guitar player. Eric’s grandfather played a multitude of instruments including piano, fiddle, drums, etc, but was most widely known for his harmonica playing. Aunts, uncles, and siblings played instruments or sang. Family gatherings often turned into jam sessions (and still do) with everyone getting into the act.

Eric received his first acoustic guitar at the age of 12 and began the lifelong journey of musicianship by learning to strum and sing folk, country and classic pop songs from whatever materials he could find in the house. His father’s extensive record collection and printed materials provided a wealth of styles to learn and draw from. Eric’s first electric guitar came at the age of 15 and his father introduced him to the awesome ferocity of guitar player Roy Buchanan, which opened up the door to the Blues. Since that point Eric has played Folk, Country, Blues, Soul, Rock, and Southern rock in various band and solo situations.
