AFM: Another Fine Mess
BCI Productions 2004

Proof we’ve finally turned a corner past downtrodden, slackergrunge posing comes in the form of Another Fine Mess, an Orange County band poised for major label attraction. Their slickly produced debut EP offers five picture-perfect tracks of power pop rock with nary a flannel shirt in sight. Far from a demo, this showcase session, recorded locally at 20/20 and Apawling studios, conveys a down-but-not-out attitude that fits. Lead vocals and lyrics by Eric Swanson takes center stage, backed by a tight unit with Eric Schink on lead guitar, Glen Kroemer on drums and Troy Hughes on bass. The tunes, all written by Swanson, convey love and longing on chaotic anthems “Everything Crashes” and “Great Mistake” alongside upbeat ballads “Orbit of Love,” “Tragedy,” and “Hurt Me.” Every word and note jumps off the disc, thanks to producer Saul Zonana, who nails the band’s sound. They’re seekers with a silver lining, wearing hearts on their sleeves but never giving up.

WSNU 92.1 Radiofest at the Jaycees Labor Day Regatta

LOCK HAVEN – There’s plenty of music slated for the Lock Haven Area Jaycee Regatta this year, thanks to rock sensation Another Fine Mess and radio stations Bear Country 99.9 FM, The Mountain WSNU 92.1 and Variety 97.7/Bill 95 Country.

“We’re very pleased with the entertainment being provided this year by the radio stations,” said Scott Johnson, Jaycee entertainment committee chairman. “We think everybody will find something to enjoy. I’m particularly pleased with the appearance of the Pop/Rock band Another Fine Mess headlining our show on Saturday evening, because everything I’ve read about this band tells me they are one of the better touring bands out there.

John Lansing, Program director of WSNU 92.1 said that Another Fine Mess with their debut single “Everything Crashes,” has climbed the charts with 30 spins a week with only the Major Label Act U2 leading the pack with 32 spins. “That’s pretty amazing for an Indie band to achieve.”

Another Fine Mess, also called AFM, serves up smooth vocals, sophisticated guitar and solid rhythms from some talented musicians from upstate New York, including vocalist/ guitarist Eric Swanson, guitarist Eric Schink, drummer Glen Kroemer and Bassist Troy Hughes.

AFM is gaining ground quickly with national and local radio and their extensive touring on the east coast for the group’s debut EP, also called “Another Fine Mess,” which is available through all local and national retailers or the Website: http://www.AFMzone.com
