Biography

Eric Wilson started his journey in Austin, TX. Played all over Texas for two years after performing for venues during college and opened for bands such as Bob Schneider, then moved to LA for not-such-greener pastures. Jumped on the stages of Viper Room, The Mint, Knitting Factory, Room 5, and at several other notable venues. Made his way back to Texas, per recommendation from Wind-Up Records to record with The Pipes Bros. (Deep Blue Something) and put together his first full length album. Fast forward thru a few years and Eric has found his band after recording his newest release in 2013, "New Leaf EP." Eric Wilson Band is now playing several shows in Austin, impressing audiences with their unique rock sound. Cross the singer/songwriter style of bands like Death Cab for Cutie with the angst and energy of early 90's rock and you'll be in the wheelhouse of what they deliver on stage. A show you don't want to miss.

Lyrics

Lavender

Written By: Eric Wilson

Probably the strangest morning you've seen, the red sun rose in the west and it rained, oh did it rain.
Look at the way the wind blew your hair, you caught a glimpse in the glass and you stopped and stared.
Look at the way the stress moves your skin, transforming your face as if it's eating from within.
And look look at the way you move your hands, gripping the back of your neck cuz you can't undertand.

And I know, I know, it's not right...it's not right.
And I know, I know, it's not right.

So come and take a walk with me around the Earth tonight, and I'll show you the brighter side of things.
And when you wake to see light, will you remember me, and did I open up your mind?

Probably the clearest evening you'll see, the lavender moon was aglow and the fields a neon green.
Look how the branches reach to the sky of a weeping willow tree as it braces to cry.
But you only notice the air it's not crisp. Another negative note to add to your list.
And just as the morning turns, as your hands, releasing the grip from your neck as you start to understand.

And I know, I know, it's not right...it's not right.
And I know, I know, it's not right.

So come and take a walk with me around the Earth tonight, and I'll show you the brighter side of things.
And when you wake to see light, will you remember me, and did I open up your mind?
So what if I am not right, at least I gave you the chance that most won't get.
And what if you find that I am right, will you give the chance to live past the regret?

smokescreen

Written By: Eric Wilson

My memory's numb from the choices I've made, I've succumbed to the point that there's no point in chasing...after you.
I understand now when you said, you don't know me, countless times where you tried to show me...the best of you.
But how am I s'posed to see when I'm wasted?

When I wake up...
Will I find me?...
Thru the smokescreen.
I hope so...

Cuz if I don't I might go crazy, the kind of crazy that might just make me...look for you.
Could use some fresh air to clear out this haze in an easier place to spend a few days...and not think of you...
When I'm wasted.

When I wake up...
Will I find me?...
Thru the smokescreen.

Take a hold of my insides...
They're twisted up make them feel right.
Take a hold of my insides...
They're twisted up make them feel right.
Make them feel right.

When I wake up...
Will I find me?...
Thru the smokescreen.
When I wake up...
Will I find me?...
Thru the smokescreen.
I hope so...

fine line

Written By: Eric Wilson

When I first came along, I sang a song in a faded tone.
Then I opened up my eyes to give in, but you wait, and I take what you give.

Oh I, I can't take you home. I can't listen to all my friends, whose shallow hearts beat to call you in.

But you know there's a fine line between your world, and my world, which sighs, "we live by not your rules, my rules, but no rules decide...except for the truth."

And when I moved along, I sang a song in an upbeat tone.
Then I opened up my eyes to give in, but you wait and I take what you give.

So I, I can't take you home. I can't listen to all my friends, whose shallow hearts beat to holding on.
To satisfy my need, I underestimate my friends, whose callous hearts beat to call you in.

But you know there's a fine line between your world, and my world, which sighs, "we live by not your rules, my rules, but no rules decide...except for the truth."
