The best kept secret in music

"disc review"

Rating: NNNN. Some singers have the ability to reach your soul with only one sung syllable, and for that instant you swear you understand all of their hopes and fears while your own become increasingly clear for what feels like the first time. Now, Erika Werry has me re-evaluating my priorities. This is a largely mellow, acoustic set with lazy-day guitar solos, some beautifully morose trumpet flourishes and world-weary lyrics leave no doubt whatsoever that Werry is a pretty deep gal with a wisdom of relationship matters..” - Brent Raynor, Thursday August 18, 2005 - NOW Magazine, Toronto ON

“Erika Werry’s songwriting, performance and personality mesh perfectly, both live and on CD” CIUT Radio director, Ron Burd

“Something strong but still the water and the wind get through. And the sunlight. And the sadness” Noah Zacharin

Feeling a bit camera shy

Erika Werry is a songwriter and a singer with a charm all her own; her studies include music and dance and a history of English and French literatures. Her fondness for words and songs has led her from Woody and Shakespeare to Joni and Dylan. Recent loves include Feist, My Morning Jacket, Julie Doiron, Sarah Harmer and other local yokel talents (Toronto is home base). Erika and the band have been featured live at CIUT radio, and the debut album hits CBC airwaves across the country. Erika took her tunes east to St John's Newfoundland in September '05, and west from Regina to Vancouver the following month and made some new fans. Her debut album received a four-NNNN review in NOW magazine, August '05, and she is currently in the studio with bandmates working on her follow-up. They make regular tours of downtown Toronto, including a weekly show at the Cloak and Dagger EVERY TUESDAY night: 394 College St (Toronto). In full band mode, or as the ever popular acoustic trio, duet or in solo performance, Erika is easy on the ears. Please visit her website at As for workshops, Erika has trained in classcial and modern dance and believes that a workshop in movement would be an excellent participatory thing to offer music festival delgates.
