"Feminine Groove Radio"

"The Erika Wright Band, based out of Seattle WA, debuts with their CD . . . ‘This Puzzle.’ It examines that very complex four letter word, LOVE; in all its many forms. Full of great lyrics and gut wrenching vocals, this album takes the listener through a journey of hindsight; from the evidently painful ballad of "Martin,” to the screaming guitar riffs in "Broken Woman". This is a very strong; uniquely written, rock album which amazes me that an artist chose to be so open....and with that bravery, I do applaud. Only in constantly questioning our lives do we grow...and in essence I LOVE this album."

Erika is really ringing out the heart with this one. We really like all of Erika's songs. She has a gift, a good band, and now she has new fans. Pay attention to Erika's writing capabilities... it ain't easy to express that kind of content with such depth, and make it sound so easy. To make simple such complexities is really quite brilliant...and I have a hint that this young songwriter has got a lot of that yet to be revealed. - Gaslight District Scene

"The Storm and Erika Wright Bring IT!"

6.23.05
The Seattle Storm WNBA basketball team and The Erika Wright Band teamed up to “Bring It” on June 22, 2005. The Erika Wright Band played at the Seattle Center prior to a Seattle Storm Game! The Erika Wright Band played before the game in the Alki Room in Seattle Center. The show and pre-party were packaged together with a ticket to the game. It was a huge success for both groups as the room was packed with estimated 600 people attending the pre-game event. Tickets to the event were also being sold by other non-profit groups supporting The Storm Pride event. We can’t wait until next year when The Erika Wright Band can rock the house with The Storm again!!

"What a hit your band was! Thank you so much for such amazing entertainment. . . would like to continue to promote your band, as everyone here truly enjoyed the performance." - Michelle Flanigan, Events Coordinator for Seattle Storm WNBA
- EW Band Website and Seattle Storm Basketball

"Why aren't you signed yet?"

"You can really sing!
You're voice reminds me of Canadian Alanah Myles, except you're better.
Mood is sombre, yet not sad.
Sound is appropriate. . .
Dammnit! You can really sing!

Bio

The Erika Wright Band is a sister and brother duo that encapsulates all the sounds of rock, pop-folk, and hard blues. Their style incorporates traditional songwriting with unconventional song structures that will leave your soul aching. Erika was raised singing gospel music and her understanding for power, intensity, and soul come through in her music. Joined by her brother Daniel with his classical training in piano and heavy metal influence in guitar, their rock is infused with bits of soul, blues, folk and country, but a sound is all their own. Inspirations include Train, Janis Joplin, Brandi Carlile and 4 Non Blondes.

Erika began writing music on the piano at the age of 12, and had her first solo singing performance at age three, in the church Christmas play. With her family's strong roots in music and her early involvement in live performance music, Erika has been fortunate to sing and perform all over the world. After completing her Bachelor of Business at the University of Washington, Erika began songwriting with the guitar and recorded her self-titled demo CD in May 2004. Shortly after the demo was released, Erika was discovered by local production company, Pink on Vinyl, and Seattle producer Tom Pfaffle. The band recorded their debut album "This Puzzle." In 2010 the duo recorded a 5 song album called "All The Roads." The brother/sister duo wrote, recorded, engineered, and produced this long awaited project. Both Erika and Daniel have been involved in recording, writing, and producing projects in the Seattle, WA and the Bay Area, CA. Daniel has also co-written and recorded his own independent songs out of Montreal, Canada. He recieved national radio play and recoginition in canadian country music. They continue to play live shows and work on independent projects like American Idol (Daniel), Treehouse Orchaestra (Daniel), Karaoke Revolution (Erika).

With the cards falling into the right place, the duo has seen a huge fan following in cities like Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, Minneapolis, Montreal, Vancouver. In the time that they have been playing music together, they continue to receive a great response from every venue/event they play. They have been lucky to share the stage with very talented performers like Brandi Carlile, Adrianne, Shannon Curfman, Lennon, Goddess & She, Animal Prufrock, Camille Bloom and many others.
