Bio

Erin Kay is an Americana artist currently based in Edmonton, Alberta. She is not afraid of emotions and connects deeply to her songs and audiences. Soon to be releasing her sophomore album, "Silver & Gold" (where she worked alongside acclaimed producer Miles Wilkinson [Guy Clarke] [Rosanne Cash]), the album speaks about transitions away from abusive relationships, single motherhood, finding love and all the feelings that come in between. The record is due to release in February 2018. Erin's voice has been likened to "honey and bourbon, swirled in a cloud of smoke", reminiscent of vocal rock powerhouse Dolores O’Riordan (The Cranberries) while also capturing the tenderness of Joni Mitchell.

Her EP ‘Into the Light’ (2014), gained her airplay on CBC radio, CKUA and charted on other college radio stations across Canada. Erin has played on main stages such as The Canmore and the Edmonton Folk music festival and folk clubs in Alberta, sharing the stage with such acts as Amelia Curran, Foy Vance. She also sings backup vocals with Ken Stead (Alberta) and has performed on many stages with that project, including opening for Tom Cochrane in the summer of 2017. Erin Kay isn't slowing down and will be starting her new year off strong, sharing the stage with Danny Michel at the Nickelodeon Folk Club in January 2018 before heading to showcase at Folk Alliance International for her third year in a row.

Erin is also active in her community. When she is not being a mother she teaches music with the Sarah Mclachlan School of music (a free music program for students at inner city school's), she was accepted into that position in April 2016.
