Erin Lacy

I grew up in the Seattle area, a teen during the whole Nirvana, Pearl Jam, grunge craze. This opened my mind to new types of music and made me want to pursue different types of music, other than choir; which at the time was the only singing I had done. So I picked up a pen and paper and started writing. I filled two journals with songs and poems. When I was 18, I met a person who, again, changed the way I felt about songwriting and singing. We began creating music together, and soon had 4 songs that we were both happy with. We still work together on music, but he's taking more of the business/production side of it, while we work on putting together a band for me. My musical influences range from blues/jazz to punk. But what I would really like to sing and work toward is tapping into our roots of blues/jazz and soul, and creating some nice, smooth, music. But also pull our own creativity out too, making a sound like no other. I couldn't really say what other bands out there are trying to accomplish, but I have noticed that in the music scene, there are only really a few types of bands. And in those few, there are even fewer with actual natural talent. I was practically born singing and born with the drive and motivation that it takes to work on music and tour.
