Erin McCamley

I was on "Clash of the Choirs" on NBC - 4 nights on prime time. I was a member of the winning choir put together by Nick Lachey. I was also on "The Today Show." We sing backup on Nick Lachey's latest CD. I won Runner Up and Honorable Mention awards for 2 of my original songs in the Song of the Year competition for 2008. I've been writing music since I learned how to talk. I took piano lessons but quit because I didn't like playing what was in the books. I only wanted to play my own songs. I've been a performer since the age of 6. My piano is my best and most reliable friend. I write songs because it gives me a release and a creative outlet for my emotions. I also write music because I love affecting people. I want to reach out and let them know I understand. My songs usually tell a story, and are easy to relate to. I am a one-woman show. I sing, play piano, and tell stories between songs to involve the audience. On my CD, each song has vocals, piano/keyboards, guitars, drums, and bass. I add horns and strings to certain songs. My influences include Ani Difranco, Ben Folds, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, and John Mayer. Another big influence is my mom Sherry McCamley, who is also a singer/songwriter and has her own CD "Changing My Point of View." We inspire each other to pursue our dreams!
