Erin Powers Sings and Plays at Caffe Lena
Erin Powers will be appearing at Caffe Lena January, 31st from 7-9 PM. There will be a cover charge of $2 .
Ms Powers is a folk-rock and folk singer/songwriter who hails from Queensbury, and recently received her BA degree in Music Business from SUNY Oneonta. Previously she had obtained a performance degree from Adirondack Community College in voice and multi-instrumental performance including clarinet, guitar, and piano.
Erin typically performs her songs in the more intimate settings of cafe's and coffee houses in which she feels that "listeners come to listen."
Erin led a local, Albany rock band, called J-Page, with notable shows
including their having opened for Sirsy, Sarah Slean, and Mieka Pauley.
After a year of band work the allure of the freedom afforded by solo performance called, and Erin has been playing as a single ever since.
Currently her repertoire contains thirty-five original compositions, some of which feature piano, but most of which feature her guitar, acapella singing, or accompanied by friends. She has made guest
> appearances at Rock Hill Bake House and showcases at the
> SUNY Hamblin Theatre, and at the Caffe Lena in Saratoga.
After becoming intensively involved in the Saratoga music scene she began writing new material some of which will now be available on her new CD called 'Pretty Green Eyes." She says, "Working with
> friends with whom she collaborated on this new Nashville recording was inspirational. A four song “demo” of Pretty Green Eyes, which is independently produced and marketed will be available at Caffe Lena following the performance on January 31st.
