Lyrics

Lemonade

Written By: Erin Saoirse Adair

The boat rocks me to sleep
And I'm thinking of you, little baby
Sour souls and bitter hearts
Are what made you, sweet little baby
And lemonade is what you are

Lemonade

The boat rocks me at night and in your stead I hold stillness
My arms are empty of you so this song is all I can give
Against those who make distance all thats between us
Well they're just lemons, but lemonade is what you live

Lemonade

Gananoque is nice, but I wish I could sit here beside you
I'd chase the spiders and things that would bite you, away
Your mother and father they fight for truth
But they completely ignore who you need and who needs you
Lemonade

Dirty Water

Written By: Erin Saoirse Adair

Dirty Water

The person you’re inquiring about is innocent
But she’s got too much on her plate
And gets lost in little details

And her headphones have been connected since birth
It's her own umbilical cord to feel the rhythms of the earth

Dirty water, dirty water, dirty water, come clean for me

The person you’re inquiring about is pretty
But she’s got big feet and man hands
And thinks a little too much

And when she was very small
She learned to tie her shoe laces
But recently all she’s learned
Is that speaking fills up empty space

The person you’re inquiring about is absolutely perfect
But she’s got fake nails and bad hair
And is considered pretty ugly

So she sleeps with men
To feel wanted
Then she puts on the face of someone else
and flaunts it like its her own

Dirty water, dirty water, dirty water, come clean for me

The poets are the prophets
The downtrodden are the gods
And the only truth that will save you
is the one that breaks your heart

The poets are the prophets
The downtrodden are the gods
And the only truth that will save you
is the one that breaks your heart

The person you’re inquiring about is honest
But she’s got wine-stained lips and swings her hips
To music she doesn’t even like

And she penetrates herself with needles
As if impregnating her brains
Will give birth to a moment that will give her
A life of passion without pain

Dirty water, dirty water, dirty water, come clean for me

No Confusion

Written By: Erin Saoirse Adair

We’ve astounded the restless
Impounded their cars but
You and I both know that’s not who we are

I’ve made friends with the homeless
And those with great riches
But those with small burdens are those with big hearts
And those with clear waters will see through the dark

No Confusion

As we tear back the stitches
We see that which lay before
And as we put the pieces back together
We notice less is more
And we know this- temptation will never tear us from our core
Of

No Confusion

We’re profound with great vision
Though the landscape is stark
but if we build these towers
We won’t go very far
And if we speak of ruins
We’ll never make our mark

No Confusion

As we gather our harvests
Sheaves of journeys through the stars
The thieves can eat too of what’s laid up in our hearts

The queen’s treasure is corrupted
It’s rusted and it’s charred
But I’ve chosen my master none can tear us apart
From the last ones’ return
To the eternal start

No Confusion
