"Ernest Aines – Already Found"

Melbourne, Australia based singer-songwriter Ernest Aines dove headfirst into the acoustic music scene last year with intent; he released his debut EP, Already Found, to a sold out crowd in 2019.

Full of soaring melodies, airy vocals, and delightfully thoughtful lyrics, Already Found offers a wonderful selection of Aines’ musical abilities. His sound might be defined as Caamp meets Bon Iver – light, modern, and definitively heartfelt. Perhaps the highlight of his work are the deftly crafted, evocative stories that feel comfortable and at home on each folky track.

The opening track River Mouth is a stand out, featuring intricate guitar work, perfectly blended harmonies, and a fantastical, well-written storyline. From the very first lines, Aines’ lyrical skill is apparent:

“I was swimming down at the dock to fill the day
And I saw a fit young sailor walking my way
Said he joined the fleet to feel complete
and become a real man
I could see in his eyes he was a little lamb”

For fans of modern singer-songwriter sounds, full of authenticity and emotion, tied together with a wonderfully soulful (but equally as smooth) voice, the work of Ernest Aines on Already Found will likely be a true treat for your ears. - Ark of Music

Ernest Aines' aim targets the heart of the listener. The Ark of Music described his songs, which range from lore-type storytelling to wistful ramblings, as "truly authentic and expressive". His sound has been compared to musicians such as Ray Lamontagne, Elliott Smith, Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley, maybe because he delivers his songs with an inspired and truthful earnestness and a search beyond the formulaic. Plus it doesn't hurt that his voice is a thing of great beauty.

In February 2021 Aines was selected as one of twelve Aussie musicians to showcase for the International Folk Alliance "Folk Unlocked Showcase" and also played a set for Isol-Aid, the worldwide online festival. He plans to kickstart his music career with the year long release campaigns for singles will culminate in a big gig and celebration of his debut album.

In 2019 Aines released his debut EP, "Already Found" to a sold-out launch in Melbourne. Described as  "full of soaring melodies, airy vocals, and delightfully thoughtful lyrics".. "..deftly crafted, evocative stories.."  (The Music).

2020's two long lockdowns saw Aines applying himself in a bedroom studio - he now has emerged from the chrysalis with twelve beautiful songs ready to release this year, with the first two singles mastered by Grammy award winning "In Rainbows" (Radiohead) producer and engineer, Hugo Nicolson.

Over the past few years Aines embarked on his international travels which resulted in interesting and outlandish performances and experiences in Brazil, Japan, the USA, Canada and Germany.

He has garnered accolades from iconic artists: Van Dyke Parks reckoned him a "giant" and folk player Foy Vance was smitten in Vancouver after hearing him play his poignant song "Seasons".

With a few local festivals under his belt and several nods to his songwriting prowess, including winning The Apollo Bay Festival Songwriting Award (Rivermouth) and one for his song "Heartwood" from the City of Melbourne, Aines is now set to take on a bigger picture and let his music fly.
