Erothyme is Bobby West, a frontiersman on the eternally-pulsing expanses of the cosmic groove. He skillfully merges elements of breaks, IDM, psytrance, funk, and dub, forging an alchemystic sonic structure which is greater than the sum of its parts and which resonates with the body, head, and heart.

Biography

Bobby West made his first forays into the art of music production at age 12 (in 2003) and has since been on a mission to expand his understanding, his skillset, and the radius of his good vibrations.

He began using the alias "Erothyme" (e-row-thighm) in 2007, derived from the root words "eros" (the creative, life-affirming drive) and "-thymia" (state of mind).

The Erothyme sound is both intricate and danceable with uncommon depth. It incorporates elements of virtually every hue of the spectrum of electronic dance music, simultaneously projecting a variety of harmonious impulses to the body and mind at any one instant, tapping into an inexhaustible flow of crystalline beats and synthetic compositions of symphonic scope.

In the Summer of 2009, two major events took place which took this project to a new level: Erothyme began performing live, and he won a Disco Biscuits remix contest, scoring a pass to Camp Bisco 8, where he had his first summer music festival experience, which set the standard for his subsequent musical ambitions.

Notable Erothyme performances include the 2010 DC Marijuana March, numerous Students for Sensible Drug Policy fundraiser parties, and Coalesce Festival.

As a dark horse and a wildcard, Erothyme has spent the past several months months catching event-goers ecstatically off guard, setting faces and minds aglow, emerging unexpectedly from nowhere and converting naysayers every step of the way.

Erothyme has a foot in the door and has every intention of moving onward.
