Bio

Few people have the ability to formulate a career and build a life with their passion as a foundation. Errick Lewis is one of the lucky few. Music has been for him a life force, a release, a passion, a source of joy, as well as a dream life occupation. Now, even with horizons broadened enough to encompass everything from jazz, gospel, R&B and hip hop, he is working towards expanding further in the direction of entrepreneurship and owning his own label. Errick was raised around music, he was 8 years old when his natural musical talent became evident. He is a self taught musician. He began playing in church every Sunday around the same time. He soon made the transition to bass guitar after developing a strong understanding and skill on the drums. He went on his first tour at 13 years old with gospel stars like Kurt Carr, and Hesikiah Walker playing both drums and bass.

He began to learn and experiment with different kinds of music like funk, R&B, rock, and hip hop and developed the versatility thats required for musicians. He first progressed into the hip hop scene when he was 16 years old as a dancer and musician for Tyrese. Between then and now he has worked with hip hop artists ranging from Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Snoop Dogg and most recently toured with Wu Tang Clan. He has also worked with R&B and Neo Soul artists like D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Raheem DeVaughn, and is currently working with up and coming singer Lilla D'Mone. This year he was featured on the Gospel Chops Volume 4 DVD with fellow bassists Andrew Gouche, Jon Resherd, Justin Raines, Marcus Phillips, Dewayne Wright, Damien Erskin, and Robert Lewis. He has also been sponsored by Fender, and is currently working with MTD Bass Guitars, and is touring with the stage play "Dream Grils"

He has made a name for himself and built a reputation for being able to execute an artist's requests to their exact specifications. He is well respected for his musical talent as well as his attitude. He can make music without an outline of something prerecorded which made for an effortless transition from musician to producer. He learned the ins and outs of the industry already, and has knows how to handle business. He is driven by being able to create something that will be seen by the world, and while the work of musicians is well respected in the inner circle of the music industry, it stays fairly under radar to the public eye. His future goals and aspirations would be to become a full time producer and work with up and coming artists to help them build a name for themselves.  A real natural talent that shows in his music, he puts passion into each chord, and love into every drum beat and bass line. His entire life has consistently included music, and he still now continues to better himself and his skill on a daily basis. He is an extremely motivated individual who continuously raises the bar and expectations he has set for himself. He has affected the music industry already with instrumental undertones, but it is safe to say that the spot light will soon turn all attention to Errick Lewis.
