Bio

The Escape Plan is a Chinese rock band formed in 2005. Originally known as the Peacock Band (kongque yuedui), the band was later reorganized and renamed the Escape Plan in 2007. Since then, it has been signed to Beauty Life, a music production company in Beijing. The style of Escape Plan’s music has evolved significantly over the years, from the previous British pop to primarily indie pop, with a hybrid of electronic, new wave and post-funk elements. Young and enthusiastic, the band sings in beautiful and poignant melodies, dosed with an air of modernity and enormous passion and vitality. The group’s lead vocal is known for his passionate and overwhelming voice, which in perfect harmony with the band’s jolly and lyrical tunes, ignites fervor with its fluid performance and zealous improvisation.

In 2008,Escape Plan made a number of successes. The single Let’s Get Married in 2008 was designated as the theme song for China's largest rock music festival, Midi Festival and received wide accolades. On August 8, the group published its first EP, Take me Away, which fetched impressive sales. In October, the group performed during the Midi Festival. On November 1, it staged its debut concert amidst enormous excitement during which its debut MV was shown to the audience.

In 2009,Escape Plan came in among the top three finalists in the National Rock Music Contest sponsored by Pepsi. The group quit the final round of the contest because of its differences in artistic views.

In May of 2010, Escape Plan performed as the opening band for the Strawberry Music Festival.In August, it performed at the Great Wall Music Festival hosted by Modern Sky, Qipanshan Music Festival in Shenyang and Jinshatan Music Festival in Qingdao. 

From October to December, it was invited by the British brand Lee Cooper and the Italian brand Lotto to perform at their new product release events and the New Year celebration events.

In May of 2011, Escape Plan performed on the main stage of the Midi Music Festival. In July, the band wrote a theme song There is No End to Youth for the Tiger Beer National Rock Music Contest and performed during the national grand final as a special guest and also one of the judges. 

In August, it performed with Chen Chusheng at Summer Sonic, Asia’s largest music festival and was invited to perform at Coca Cola’s 125th anniversary celebration event. 

In September, its single Sunshine in My Memory was included into the New Energy Plan album by Red Bull.
In October, it performed on the main stage of the Modern Sky Music Festival.
In November, the single Sunshine in My Memory became one of the top ten on the Top Chinese Music Awards List.
In December, it staged its New Year celebration concert during which it released its album to the public. The concert venue was overwhelmingly packed and the number of audience has surpassed the M.A.O record.

In January of 2012, the band's first album World/Earth was released.

In April of 2013, they toured the country, once again breaking the ticket sales records of local live houses. 

From 2008 to 2014, Escape Plan has been widely covered by both domestic and international media, including Hit, FM88.7 International Channel, Hunan TV, Yunnan TV, Zhenjiang Satellite TV, Beijing TV, CCTV, CNTV, tencent.com, sina.com, mogo.com, chinaworkbook.com, milk, 0086, 1226, Timeout, Q Magazine, Inmusic Magazine and X-Magazine.
