Faced with a diagnosis of stage-4 cancer at age 28, songwriter Benjamin Scheuer, who leads the band Escapist Papers, doubled down to finish the group's second album, "The Bridge."
Scheuer, called "brave and brilliant" by the Sunday Herald, tells candid stories about himself and his family on "The Bridge," a record of narrative modern-folk songs, available for free-download from www.EscapistPapers.com
In January 2012, cured of cancer, Scheuer debuted the music from "The Bridge" at Lincoln Center.
He has performed in the United Stages, Edinburgh, London and Paris.
