Está Vivo

 Chicago, Illinois, USA
BandFolkWorld

Sharing these creations with everyone and everything from here to there. Going only where the sun and the road leads us. Love is in the air and we're all taking deep breaths, letting it in and spreading it around. With unstoppable smiles and filled gaps of dancing and clapping. Ours is yours.

Biography

The seed of this band grew out of a Chicago based live electronic act I've toured with from 2008 to 2009 (Opening up for acts such as Justice, So-Me, Bloody Beetroots, Danger, Don Rimini, Yelle, Acid Girls, Etc.). The band known as Bearries disintegrated and this is what has grown from it. As 2010 came to an end I started composing and recording all of my own personal material under the name "Está Vivo". I use everything and anything as an influence leaving myself with no limitations to encounter. While mostly writing folk/tropical type tunes, I ultimately just create by feeling and what comes out is what comes out. If I can guarantee one thing about my art it's that it will always remain unattached, open, and free-spirited.

Lyrics

Natural Blossom

Written By: Ryan McMahon

Your my wild flower growin' in my yard
tried to fertilize ya but nothin' came out
well I pour some love on ya, watch you grow
please close those legs before you go

Plant that seed
inside your belly it grows
Plant that seed
let the magic flow (x2)

When I touch you my thoughts explode
well I'm sick and tired of feelin' old
when I hold your hand I know I'm alive
oh please honey, don't let me die

Plant that seed
inside your belly it grows
Plant that seed
let the magic flow (x2)

When I feel that trigger comin' down my legs
and every secret was never kept
well I'll feel the same as I did before
I won't change my mind anymore

I love you, oh y-o-u

Just For Us

Written By: Ryan McMahon

The morning moon staring at you
sayin' the sun will be out soon
with it's light to guide you through
for when you fall and to kick start your moves

Hold your other, hold 'em tight
dance with them to the daylight
feel the warmth of lady red's touch
she lit the sky just for us

Your toes in the sand, jammin' to the beach band
humid air grainin' threw your hands
you're so lost but so complete
pretty thing, come with me

Hold your other, hold 'em tight
dance with them to the daylight
feel the warmth of lady red's touch
she lit the sky just for us

Just for us(x4)

Morningtide

Written By: Ryan McMahon

Wake up, wake up
from your dreams
everything is real now, everything is real now

Pickin' and Choosin'

Written By: Ryan McMahon/John Follis/Teddy Kolcz

Mama show me the way
Daddy's stuck in his grave
Sister don't be afraid
Brother is on his way

You can pick your friends
but you can't pick your family (x3)

We need to come together, like birds of a feather
Don't run away from each other
'Cause we know we're stuck together

You can pick your friends
but you can't pick your family (x3)
