Esther Robinson

Before Esther Robinson began her musical journey at the Rotterdam Pop Academy from the Codarts conservatory, she played with different bands in and outside the country (Oman, France, Germany, Scandinavia and more).
Her band 'Esther Robinson' was formed in January 2011. After their first gig in March, the reactions were overwhelming so Esther decided it was time to record their first EP. It has become a soulful pop record, produced by Maarten Hemmen and Bas Nuiver.

Being influenced by great artists like Donny Hathaway, India.Arie, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, Esther created a soulful pop sound of her own. Esther writes her songs behind her piano. When the music comes, the lyrics follow and after that she arranges choir parts to the songs.

At this point, Esther’s first EP was released on June 29th 2011, and her single is called ‘What If We’.
She performed on the North Sea Round Town festival 2011 with her band, previous to North Sea Jazz.
Her EP was also played on radio 6 at 'Mijke's Middag' and 'Winfried Draait Door'.
