"Outsiders"

- Roots Highway (IT)

Ethan Freckleton: The Crazy Things We Say–Based out of Seattle, Freckleton is poised to debut his full-length album that has garnished some praise by his songwriting peers...Freckleton marries a mixture of rockabilly and rock, even throwing in a cover from Tom Petty. The album is unique in spirit and is definitively rooted in heavy rock. - Austin Daze

Today, on OUR all-ages show, live music from country-rock three-piece, The Ethan Freckleton Band (High Dive in Fremont, February 13, 2011 … 21 and over .. Ouch). As an esteemed former member of the Nashville Songwriters Association, Ethan casts light on the oppressive guidelines imposed by the industry on country music songwriters. We always suspected something was up with country music, but Ethan brings the proof. I mean, what are the odds that so many country stars have bad jobs and pickup trucks? - Marty Riemer

Bio

Seattle, WA based Ethan Freckleton continues the tradition of American rock n' roll, melding a heavy influence of blues and country music with the louder and heavier guitar sounds of the grunge era that he grew up with, while embodying the pop ethos of "Don't Bore Us, Get to the Chorus."

It's been a busy 2012 for Ethan. In February, he released his first full-length album, titled "The Crazy Things We Say" recorded with his band and produced by Johnny Sangster (Mudhoney, Maggie Bjorkland), released two music videos including the stylistic and sexy sci-fi epic "Wendy Was A Robot", and toured the West coast in support of his album. Then on July 5th, he released an EP of songs he recorded on a trip to Nashville last winter - the release is titled "All She Needs" and was produced by Jim Reilley (New Dylans).

Devoted to writing great songs, he has continually refined his approach while studying the craft of songwriting with hit writers - among them: Jeffrey Steele, Tom Hambridge, Hugh Prestwood, Angela Kaset and Don Henry. Their teachings left their mark, as Ethan emerged with his own brand of sincere, soul-infused rock n' roll.

Back in 2009, Ethan left his Seattle, WA home and put the rubber to the road for an 8-week songwriting sojourn across the United States. Along the way, over 13,000 miles all told, he introduced over twenty songwriters to an online audience via his tour blog; in addition to conducting co-writes, recording and posting video of stripped-down acoustic performances, Ethan's interview series allowed them to share in-depth perspectives on the craft and business of songwriting. Ethan also had the chance to share his song catalog with a broad audience in many of his tour stops, including an intimate live performance for a crowd of over 600 at the historic Ritz Theater in Tiffin, Ohio.

He has been carried in rotation on independent and commercial radio stations around the globe, from the UK's HOT RADIO 102.8 to Southern FM 88.3 in Melbourne, Australia; as well as in the USA on such stations as Los Angeles' KPFK 90.7 FM and Hawaii's college/rock radio station 90.3 KTUH. His album "The Crazy Things We Say" has been carried internationally at indie record stores such as Rock N' Roll Circus in Madrid, Spain.

Ethan is an alumni of Seattle, WA area bands The Troublefakers, Alectrophobia, The Disappointments and Lust for Kicks. As a teenager, he shared the stage with blues greats RL Burnside, Lonnie Pitchford, Dave Conant.
