"Week in Pop"

Portland, Oregon's Daniel Hill and Juliana Dieterich are Ethereal and the Queer Show who released the smoke and lights dance sensation "Horses" ahead of their album Cosmotopia's release October 30 from Pour Le Corps Records. Bring back '84 now, headbands, neon pastel leotards, glittering disco balls and other assorted gratuitous lighted by pressing play now. - Impose Magazine

"Slow Jam from Ethereal and the Queer Show"

Those of you having trouble creeping into your Monday activities might want to steer clear of this tune from Ethereal and the Queer Show; it’s got that slow vibe that just might make you want to call it a day. Honestly, I like the wispy quality to the vocals, allowing room for the rest of the song to breathe in and out. There’s no propulsive beat, leaving you with a dream quality tune that you’re sure to revel in, if you’re in need of a brief escape from today. The duo’s Cosmotopia LP comes out on October 30th, just in time for you to lapse into a quiet hibernation for the winter months. - Austin Town Hall

"PREMIERE: Ethereal And The Queer Show - Horse"

Portland-based electronic duo Ethereal And The Queer Show is the project of Daniel Hill and Juliana Dieterich, and on "Horse" they turn '80s prom music into a dreamy, syrupy nightmare. Using the watery sonics of artists like Nite Jewel, there's a solid pop ethos underpinning the track and a motorik chug that will keep you flailing away. Their new album, Cosmotopia, is out October 30 via Pour Le Corps Records. - RCRD LBL

"Ethereal and the Queer Show's very different world"

If you thought the only thing good coming out of Portland, Oregon was the popular TV show Portlandia, then you haven’t listened to Ethereal and the Queer Show’s new LP, Cosmotopia. closely enough. Daniel Hill and Juliana Dietrich are two singer/songwriters who make up the dream pop duo. It is said that it was through visions and revelations from the dream world is how they conceived their project and they seem to be on the right track. Their LP is set to debut October 30th and they have released their single “Horse” for the masses to hold onto until the big day. If you had to describe their music, its a culmination of 80’s new wave on acid, drifting you into a different world that will lull you into a dreamlike state while still feeling the urge to dance. I think the album cover itself describes the sound, but listen for yourself to get your own assessment. Listen to “Horse” below. - Art Nouveau Magazine

"10 local acts to see"

Ethereal and the Queer Show

With a name sure to eschew any lazy genre comparisons or easy compartmentalization, Ethereal and the Queer Show's (myspace.com/danielhill1) songs are impressionistic, ramshackle pop reveries. Through mind-warped effects, warbled vocals and jangly guitars seize inspiration and feed off the moment, alternately recalling US Maple, Stephen Malkmus or Bradford Cox.
