"Great Guys, Great Music"

"These guys continue to amaze me! Talented musicians working their butts off to make it. It's paying off. They sound great on the album, but if you ever get a chance to see them live, do it." - iTunes Reviews

"The Deeper the Roots the Higher the Reach"
Released December 29, 2008.

Etna Green is a piano rock band originating from Walkerton, Indiana. They began playing locally as a band called This Time Tomorrow in November of 2006. By the following June, EG had a solid show and were confident in what they were becoming. By late June This Time Tomorrow was no more—having picked up Matty K, their current bass player, they formed Etna Green, the band you know today.
With a mix of hard hitting rock guitar, intricate piano, and thoughtful lyrics, Etna Green has, for the past year and a half, continued to grow and evolve their identity by experimenting with a wide range of song styles and poignant themes. EG has shared the stage with a variety of bands: Skillet, Jonezetta, Slingshot 57, as well as political speakers: mayors, congressmen, and the occasional presidential candidate. They have played stadiums, packed theaters, coffee houses, even birthday and graduation parties.
In August 2008, EG set out to record their first full length album. The band had several setbacks throughout the year, but were determined to get their music out. Heading to Joplin, MO, they planned a four day recording marathon with Josh Walker of Transient Media Group. They recorded forty-four hours that weekend, and let Josh work his magic. After two months of mixing, mastering, and conference calls Etna Green released their debut album, The Deeper the Roots the Higher the Reach. The CD release show was amazing, with the band selling all of the discs they had with them. So many people wanted to see this show that they filled the room with over three times the legal occupancy! Helping EG release their show in the little coffee house were other great local and touring bands. The show was a sellout and Etna Green realized then that they wanted to take this as far as they can.
The next step for Etna Green is a tour. With plans for a summer tour developing, they are looking at stops in Chicago, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and St Louis. The guys of Etna Green may not fully know what to expect out of it, but they will play for anyone willing to listen; with that mindset, you can plan on nothing short of an adventure.
