"Becoming Eunice Love: A self-revelation journey through music and experience"

By combining elements of soul, funk, jazz and gospel singer-songwriter Eunice Love creates a sound that is missing from mainstream music. Her soulful lyrics give her musical productions a genuine character and artistic flavor that her audience can feel.

Hailing from the city of New Orleans, Louisiana Eunice Love has been around music as long as she can remember. The late Raymond Myles, Sr. first recognized the potential of Eunice by including her in his traveling choir, The Rams. Under the tutelage of Myles, Eunice began to sing professionally. Through this experience Eunice combined her roots of gospel with New Orleans jazz to craft a unique sound.

After the untimely death of Myles in 1998, Church Street, a group made up of the lead singers from The Rams, was created. Church Street toured from France to Canada to Tunisia as well as many cities in the United States. One of Eunice’s proudest professional moments was performing in front of a home crowd at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with Church Street.

In 2005 Eunice decided it was time to shine as a solo artist. She’s performed at local clubs such as Howling Wolf, Sweet Lorraine’s and 544 Club. But it was at the Bourbon Street Blues Club where she learned to perform to a crowd as if she was singing to each person one on one. This personalized style bodes well for Eunice as she builds her fan base.

Through networking and God intervention, Grammy award winning producer Timothy ‘Timbaland’ Mosley introduced Eunice to singer-actress Tamela Mann of the Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns fame. Mann heard the song, “Heaven” written by Eunice and decided to record and include it on her album The Master Plan. Eunice’s music resonates with her audience because she continuously uses her life’s experiences as inspiration for her lyrics.

In addition to a budding music career, Eunice wants to use her voice to empower. She has established The Love YourSelf campaign, which was designed to help others overcome any struggle that comes their way. This is a very personal campaign for Eunice. Eunice states: “For me my start was through music. So L.Y.S. is a name I came up with because it’s something I was missing from my life. With my struggles I saw no reason to love myself because I was full of hurt, embarrassment, disappointment but with positive people in my corner I was empowered. It is my mission to do the same for others.”

Eunice is currently writing her first book titled, Y Me?: My Journey to the Answer. This autobiographical tale will include her past struggles of abuse, both external and self-inflicted and how she overcame them to become the woman she is today. It is very important to Eunice to encourage others to love themselves through her music and book.

This is only the beginning for Eunice Love. Her journey continues at a live show on May 31, 2012 at Banks Street Bar & Grill, 4401 Banks Street, New Orleans, 70119. - The Urban Alternative NOLA
