"Hard Decline"

Eva Rubin's voice is the resurrected mixture of some of the purest female vocalists of all
time; women like Karen Carpenter and Minnie Riperton. Just like these phenomenal
women of music, Eva Rubin's talent is exceptional and her EP, HARD DECLINE, is the
perfect compilation of songs to display these talents. As great singers start to reclaim the
music business through the indie/DIY circuit, I believe Eva Rubin is on her way to being
one of those discoveries that both music purists and fans alike will fall in love with.

I instantly took a liking to the EP's opening track, BEFORE YOU KNOW, because it
shifted my mood and caused me to move toward improving my day. I went from being
hopped up on coffee and unfocused, to settling into a groove and actually getting back
on track with my schedule for the day. You know you have a great song and voice when
they affect others in such a way that people are influenced to make changes for the
better. Very few artists can, or even know how to use their artistic talents to help people
make positive shifts but, Eva Rubin has found a way to do this to me through this
particular song. You guys have to hear it!

I also enjoyed several other songs on Eva's EP, including the title track, HARD DECLINE,
and TROUBLE. Each of these songs are similar to BEFORE YOU KNOW, in that they
affect your mood. I'd love to hear Ms. Rubin do a few uptempo songs to provide some
contrast so that people don't typecast her in any way, or mistake her for being limited to
one style of folk music. But, overall, Eva is an amazing singer, songwriter and musician
whose talents deserve to be supported and shared with the masses. I'd recommend
anyone who loves great singers to check Eva Rubin out, and connect with her online at:

"An open microphone, surrounded by plenty of talent"

She was honest, authentic, with a little bit of an edge and a whole lot of heart. She somehow managed to balance a sense of vulnerability with a commanding stage presence that was subtle but firm. Imagine Aimee Mann meets Kacey Musgraves and you just might get a sense of the magnetic pull that Rubin maintained over me. She was great.
