EVA, who has always been in profound love with music, taught herself how to play the guitar as well as how to write her own songs. At home in Hamburg for many years, she found the multi-instrumentalist Kevin Bents in New York while looking for the right musicians for her project. Bents who had worked with Steely Dan and the Spin Doctors before, was joined by guitarist Gabriel Gordon (Natalie Merchant), drummer Doug Yowell (Suzanne Vega, Donna Lewis, Duncan Sheik) and bassist/Multi-instrumentalist Fontaine Burnett (Chaka Khan, Marla Glenn, Wynton Marsalis) who was also responsible for the arranging and mixing of “Bittersweet Sessions”. “We had such an incredible time during the recordings! It was simply fantastic playing with these musicians”, says EVA and adds “I can’t wait to perform these songs live”.

Whether supporting Vonda Shepard, playing alone in a little club or playing in front of 30,000 people at a Westernhagen concert in Cologne, EVA always wins people over. It’s not only because of her music, it’s her personality and her natural abilities as a performer that catch your attention. You will rarely witness such enthusiasm and joy on stage as with EVA and her musicians. It is definitely a culmination of EVA following her own path and being true to her voice when composing and performing. One can only be genuine if what is being represented is what one truly lives.
