In EvaEva's own words;
"From as early as I can remember, the rhythms and melodies of Brazil have been a listening necessity - kind of like a need for water or food, and I can NOT stay seated when samba is playing! Indian music and culture were not far behind in becoming part of my life too (highlighted by the always-fabulous Bhangra beat and Bollywood style), and so that has also taken an important role in the sound and overall experience of my work.
Just for fun, I'll throw in a little punky-esque rock guitar riff (to match my hair, haha) from time to time to keep you on your toes!

Brazilian music and American funk and soul (in addition to classical training) have been a central part of EvaEva'a musical education. Indian culture had a significant influence on her at an early age, and is now an important component of her sound, image and overall artist concept.

She defines her genre as World Fusion, the majority of her work being based upon Brazilian and Indian rhythms combined with Electronica to create a modern organic sound.

Her parents, Googie Coppola (Carol/Carolyn Brooks) and Tom Coppola recorded and toured with many internationally-acclaimed artists, among them some of Brazil's masters. Included in that group are The Fatback Band, The Average White Band (multiple tours and performances including the '77 Montreux Jazz Festival), Luther Vandross, Herbie Mann , The Jackson Five, Bette Midler, Todd Rundgren, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Pat Matheny, The Brecker Brothers, Steve Gadd, Jan Hammer, Manu DiBango, Donald Alias, Eumir Deodato, Ray (Cachete) Maldonado, Sammy Figueroa, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim, Lenny White, Paulinho da Costa, Hermeto Pascoal, Raul de Souza, Oscar Castro Neves, and Creed Taylor.

From 1983-1987, EvaEva studied Flute with Julius Baker and Brad Garner at The Juilliard School. While a student at Juilliard, she performed with Jean-Pierre Rampal and a flute chorus at Carnegie Hall.

From the late 80's to early 90's, EvaEva could be seen spinning hot tracks at the Palladium, Limelight, Red Zone, Shout, City, Tavern On The Green, and the Rainbow Room.

EvaEva is also talented as an actress and dancer. She was hired as a child singer for commercials, has performed in plays, musicals, operettas, and has been trained classically in ballet and tap.

In 1999, she starred in and co-produced the independent short film, "The Crown and Bell".

EvaEva's strongest vocal influences are Stevie Wonder, Maria Callas, and her mother. She believes that interpretation is a fine art, and gives great time and care to phrasing and delivery. Her sound on more rock-genre songs has sometimes been compared to Annie Lennox.

Among those who have recorded with EvaEva are Cyro Baptista, Gil Goldstein, and Dominguinhos.

EvaEva has traveled frequently to Brazil, where she recorded "Friends Always". She lived in São Paulo for three months in 2000, during which time she performed with Jorge Ben Jor. In 2005, she collaborated with Matt Pierson, recording 4 songs for EMI Music. One of the songs she recorded for that project was "Insensatez", for which she wrote a new English translation from the original Portuguese.

Two of EvaEva's recent tracks, "Ziriguidum", and "Brazilian House 1" have been licensed (under modified names) by Crucial Music to be used for film and television.

Her latest work, a song called "Shantaram", is dedicated to the novel of the same name. She believes strongly that she has captured the essence, humanity, resiliance, and heart of the story in the lyrics of the song. (She hopes that the author will hear it and think so too!).

EvaEva continues her work to musically push the envelope and further refine her craft.
