"Love & War CD Review"

...Love & War is a solid power pop album with a 70's folk sound and a twist of Latin...
to round out her unique style. Her haunting vocals are filled with so
much feeling it will give you chills. Eva could give singer/songwriters of yesterday
such as Stevie Nicks and Carol King a run for their money. But make no mistake
yesterday is not where Eva belongs! She has the talent to be in the same class as
Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge.

This CD has a solid song list without those hollow meaningless songs that have
been on a lot of CD's lately. Eva offers you many subtle messages if you only pay
attention to her music. All the songs on this CD are great if you love deep music or
just something great to dance to...

Bio

Eva grew up in the South in a musical family and moved to L.A. in recent years. As a pro vocalist in the South as well as in Europe, she performed popular music from nearly every genre before she began writing her own songs.

Her first original band experience was with a group called Diamonds and Hearts. Their time together was brief but eventful: their first two gigs at the Strand Theatre ended in encores, and their songs immediately received regular rotation airplay on local college station Album '88, all within their first 2 months together.

But apparently things were moving too fast---the keyboardist and main songwriter Jeff Diamond went into the hospital indefinitely, while the other singer and guitarist (married couple Tina and Andre Ryan) filed for divorce and left the state in opposite directions.

Eva was literally the only one left standing, with nothing but a DAT tape and some photos to remember the experience, yet they continued playing the band's music on the college radio station for another year.

Devastated by the band's breakup, she decided not to pursue any more original music, but instead got a well-paying cover gig with a showband and went back to school.

Her favorite gig in Europe was a piano bar in Amsterdam, where Eddie Vetter came in and asked to sit in, using Eva's guitar. "He was very nice, but he chose a cover from The Who so he didn't really sound like himself" she recalls. "I didn't really believe it was him until returning to the States and seeing him on a TV interview." Thanks to her broad range of musical experience, you'll hear influences from Swing, Country, Latin, and other genres, yet to Eva, these are just natural expressions of her musical moods.

The songwriters who have inspired her the most are Joni Mitchell, early Neil Young, early Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow and Joan Osborne. She's now collaborating with guitarist/bassist/writer Fletcher Rhoden and playing weekly in the L.A. area with her band and acoustically.
